Members PRSnotPOS
So my tube amp should be coming any day now and I have new tubes already to switch out the sovteks bc I heard they suck. I got my tubes from Doug's tubes. He sent me 2 Ruby tube el34's. 1 Groove Tubes-12AX7-C for the V1 spot. 1 Tung Sol reissue 12AX7 for the V2 spot. And 1 balanced Electro Harmonics 12AX7 for the "phase inverter spot" I would like to know which spot is the phase inverter spot just to make sure. I heard the V1 is the spot farthest away from the el34s so does that make the phase inverter spot the one closest to the el34's?? Please Help. Thank you. Members OverDriven
Yes the PI is usually the slot closest to the power tubes. BTW what amp is it? -Joe
Members mylzenmylz
yes, usually it is right next to the power tubes. in some VERY RARE instances it might be in some 'off-angle' position, but still close to the power tubes. if all else fails, check for an owners manual online or at the manufacturer's site. the manual will have a diagram of the tube lay-out.
