Members Buuzer
Heya. I'd appreciate some first hand feed back from anyone who's used the Hawk mod for the Poly 800. I sold my first P800 two decades ago, but now I have a chance to buy a fully functional one for $40.00 USD. I've read about the mod and seen the vids, but what I'd really like to know is if it really does make a huge significance to sound sculpturing on this little synth. Thanks in advance. Members The Severalist
$40? If you don't buy it send the deal my way and I'll give it one of my many under priveleged contemporaries. Those are sub casio rap man prices.
Members Metrosonus
what's a hawk mod? that's a new one. wait wait.. the upgrade boards? I think it adds extra midi commands and adds an LFO or two.
Members Buuzer
I decided to buy the board just for a future project (I have too many projects going on now to take on one more). After I got it home and tested it once more I opened it up. Aside from a few cobwebs it's pretty much dust free so the mod should be a painless drop-in. From what I've read, aside from adding a number of Midi functions the mod extends the playing range by two octaves, increases the number of LFOs to 4 with multiple waveforms, and adds a mono mode with portamento among other things. It looks great on paper, but I won't know until I do the mod.
Members Buuzer
Gratuitous picture time. Looks good Allerian. I don't care for the original look of the case either so I might just refinish it somehow (whenever I get around to it).
