Members boyakasha
Is it possible to use a fender Quad with US plugs in the UK with a simple currency converter / adapter kit? I know that normal stuff works okay, but with the amount of power used by these things, I'm a little concerned. Also, does anyone have experience shipping gigantic packages internationally? I'd be shipping a 4x12 combo amp, which is very heavy. thrashordie@hotmail.com ---------------------------For Sale: Fender Quad Reverb (a different one)Diaz Texas Square Face Fuzz PedalIbanez Tubescreamer Looking For:Ampeg v-4b equipmentHiwatt 100W equipment
Members dreamspace
in Uk the Voltage is somewhere round 220-240V while in US it's 120V? you'll need some tranfsformator... think they run for 150 bucks or so
Members mrtokai
Yeah, you will need a step down transformer from maplins or somewhere similar, they are massive, so probably don't bother if its an amp you want to leave the house with. Members satannica
Yes and no... Short version: No, don't even bother Long version: Yes but it will cost you $$$$ and its just totally not worth it. Step up transformers will work, but you will end up with a dead amp eventually! Members rjken1969
Not to worry, people who have played amp at both voltages claim there is better tone to be found in a 230v amp. Especially the amps that are designed in Europe, such as Framus, H&K, Engl, Cornford, Marshall, and so on. I would look into one of these. Amp shopping is always fun too. Members boyakasha
I've had it for a year already. I'm looking for $600 US for it. I've got a silverface Quad as well. Needless to say I was looking for some big amps. They sound really great, so I was hoping to keep at least the Blackfaced one.
