Members halluxone
Hey everyone, longtime reader but haven't posted in a long time. I've got a gig coming up in Baltimore, but I live in Atlanta. I've been toying with the idea of just shipping my RD 700GX up in it's SKB case, which is "supposed" to be approved for airline shipping. After seeing the "United Breaks Guitars" song, I am pretty freaking hesitant to send it up. Anyone with experience shipping their prized gear in hopes that underpaid neanderthals won't crush it? Am I better off just renting up there? Anyone in Baltimore who may be able to help out with a one night rental? Thanks, Allen
Members Binkeys
I've flown world-wide with my boards in the SKB cases without any problems. They WILL drop it/throw it around. I actually saw the baggage handlers in Minneapolis drop mine in the ice when I was switching planes to get to a gig in Winnipeg. Your gear will be fine. Your case might accumulate some "personality". Of course, with the extra fees many carriers charge for luggage these days, it might be cost effective to rent locally and not take the risk. Members halluxone
Thanks for the response! I checked into rental prices and for an 88 key board with amp and all the extras, it's like $250 bucks! Looks like I'll be shipping it up after all...
