Members OneHappyPappy
I've been to a couple of shows and listened to a couple of albums with guitar players with amazing chops but when it comes to the gear they use I get baffled by what they use.. I think Vernon from Living Colour is the first that comes to mind, really great sound for using the crates.

Members eyeball987
Some blues player (SRV type of stuff) with an old Charvel model 4, played upside down (high string on top) going through a tiny SS crate something. Yes, a practice amp. I couldn't believe it when I asked him about it after his set. I was speachless.
Members blargh
I'm amazed that David Gilmour's live lead tone is created by solid state fuzzes. I'm really surpised Allan Holdsworth likes Rectifiers. It suprised me that ystem of a Down used divided by 13 amps on their new cds, because their tone is {censored}. Members bullhead
for years, the Melvins had been using SS preamps, usually driven by some dirt box (varied show-to-show) into an SS poweramp, usually designed for PA use. all that in a rack, into a Hiwatt 4x12. sounded awesome. last time, it was an SD-1 into a Superlead through an unlabled 2x12, and a Mesa 2x12. somehow, it sounded almost exactly the same
Members Borat Sagdiyev
Musicians with amps you were surprised by This one time I was walking into my room, and James hetfeild turned on the lights screaming, while holding an amp. Needless to say, I was very surprised.
