Members Faber
Which of these distorts at the lowest volume? My bassman seems to be very loud indeed before giving up the grind. Are the BBs the same loudness?

Members matt_v
depends on which bassman you are using. there are 50, 100, and 135 watt versions.

Members aerorockjax
There are also attenuators like the weber mass, minimass, thd hotplate, dr z airbrake that can be used on stacks and combos. If you only want to bring down the volume a good amount and allow breakup much earlier they can work well. If you want to use it to get bedroom and very quiet volumes, youll most likely be greatly disapointed with the alteration in tone.
Members Faber
Thanks, but actually I'm quite happy with my amp. It's just that I keep reading about how people will get the Bassman for it's crunch sound. And like I said, I think it's very loud when it does distort. Luckily it has a lovely clean sound. It's simply that I understand that the BB and Basman are fairly similar amps, so I was wondering if they run at the same loudness for dirty sounds?
