Members Daryl Chaney
Hi, I just bought a 2nd hand fatboy which is 2 years old. It worked perfectly when i tested it and it was on for more than 15 minutes. I brought it home and plugged it in and after 5 minutes it started to rumble and it got louder and louder, i have tried various different things, no reverb, checked both inputs etc. I checked the tubes which look fine, they all light up ok. I put it on with no guitar plugged in and it still did it, then i tapped the amp and the amp made a weird rumbling sound, i tapped it again and it did the same no matter where i tapped the amp. It sounds like water in a glass container being tapped while your head is in it ! The guy i bought it off said he never had a problem like this and just said to check the tubes where seated properly. New tubes were only put in 4 months ago by the guy i bought it off. Does anyone know what the problem is ? Any help is appreciated. Thanks
Members JamesPeters
Tubes cannot be tested by looking at them, unless they've pretty much exploded. And most tubes don't explode when they fail.
