Members millertime
i want to know how brutal should the tone be coming out of my triaxis and mesa 2/90...to me it sound too compressed. not sure if im doing something wrong? i run all my gear in serial.. For effects im using a g-force and a yamaha proR3 for reverb...i have jj tubes loaded all around.. i know there are a lot of variables here.i have a custom 2/12 cab made from birch wood with vintage/30's in it...maybe i need a head or would you say i must be doing something wrong and i need to play more with it .. should i run my effects in the loop? maybe thats it? i dont know:(

Members dmtnt
I wouldn't call the Triaxis' tone brutal. Try boosting it, it'll get you closer to the tone you're looking for.
Members millertime
maybe i need a head or a new preamp..thanks for the reply
Members Sick Michael
Yeah, you could try boosting it. The other thing I would do is run the level of the poweramp high and the level of the preamp low. That might make it a bit more throaty. The Tri does sound compressed though IMO. My Quad is much less so, but the 3U rack space is a bit annoying.
