Members musicdog400
I use Rosegarden a bit, but I was wondering if there might be a better solution for my MIDI recording. I like to write complicated rock / jazz that has a lot of non-repeating riffs and odd meters. So a simple loop based sequencer isn't the best approach for me. I am dabbling with csound, and reading about SuperCollider and Pure Data, but I mostly want more sequencing control, not so much DSP / sound generation control. I would not object to a scripting language approach. For example, it would be really cool if I could enter an eighth note run and have the software automatically generate a crescendo. If I didn't like it I could apply another effect, or manually edit velocities. Anyone using a Linux composition tool or sequencer they really like ? Members Ultra.Fuzz
If you can get used to the tracker interface and don't mind paying for it, then you might want to try Renoise. I haven't used it on Linux, but it's supposed to work quite well.
