Members Pigsinzen
Originally posted by herobiscuit SS does not always = digital! Those two are actually different things as well. There are amps that have a mixture of SS and digital tube emulation built in. Solid State still uses analog signals. Digital just uses 1s and 0s. So SS never = digital. Digital = Digital Solid State = Solid State Tube = Tube.

No, most if not all modern digital circuits use SS processors. Although the first simple digital computers did use tubes.

A digital device however can use analog parts within the device.

Admit your error and move on:wave: I never said SS always = digital hi please go back and carefully read my original post. I was assuming there was some digital function going on but needed a schematic to prove one way or the other. see how EZ that was !! 1! !? ok, so, let's open up some other cans of worms while we are at it ........ like digital clipping and the wonderful noises it makes ! 1! Members Shask
The Marshalls arent digital, they have the same analog OP AMP IC in them that Tubescreamer pedals have. And the person asking for the SL-X pic, I have it, but it basically looks like the JCM900 pic posted.

You have no clue what you are talking about. None. The 900 is just as analog as the 800. The signal NEVER turns to digital. There are no A/D D/A converters in that amp. Let just keep it simple for your sake any amp with SS componets in the signal path sound leik ASS .... really pretty simple. I understand you are probably drunk again it's ok, it is the weekend

Hi indeed, Yes you assumed, and you assumed wrong:) The 900 is not a digital amp, and it does not use any digital processing. Case closed. Digital clipping sucks, but at least we can agree on that:) Can of worms, how

I obviously know a lot more about this than you. any amp with SS componets in the signal path sound leik ASS Do you EVEN KNOW what SS components are? You do know that silicon diodes are SS components right? That pretty much means ALL AMPS SUCK! Again you have no clue what you are talking about. And are not digging yourself deeper. Really pretty simple. I understand you are probably drunk again it's ok, it is the weekend LOLLLERBLADES! I don't drink. You reverted to ad-hominem attacks because you just made yourself look like an ass. First the 900 had digital parts you claim. You were then proven wrong. Then you said Analog Chips = Digital. You were then proven wrong. Now you are just spouting verbal masturbation acting like you knew what you were talking about all along. In the meantime making you a laughing stock of the forum. Congratulations.
