no matter which amp/amps you use, you're going to play hardcore {censored}metal with no melody. Your singer is going to scream or growl. Girls will NEVER come to your show. You will luckilly graduate high school. You will build car parts at your local factory. You will hang out at GC forever with your slutty, nasty, fat, tatooed girlfriend. You will have children. They will say, "which amp combination will sound heavy DAD?"

Thanks to the last 2 guys who actually posted like they had brains.

And the other guy, Im out of highschool
and youre basically coming off as an ignorant
jackass.

The question was very simple. Pick
a combination, theres the powerball + savage, Or the A or the B option. Best for Thrash/Death metal.
With Nice earth shaking breakdowns here and there.
Nice thick and meaty.

:thu:

And the savage idea started coming after hearing
This Clip

Any decently high gain amp wil sound fine live or mic'ed properly.

You're approaching overkill like I've already done:(

I am the only guitarist. Which is how I like it.
So its for the 2 guitar thick sound.
And its just something Ive always
Wanted to do. Just I dont have
access to try most of the ENGLS
out. So Its a matter of time before
I decide which combo to go with.
There can only be 2. My biggest problem
is Deciding to keep the 5150 in the mix.
Itd have to be biased and boosted, I dont
know how close that would compare to the
Savage with its 6550 power section.

And the Powerball, I Love It.
I love Dimmu Borgirs Live Tone...
Its kinda what Im going for...
So maybe I should say {censored} it
and Buy the 2 ENGL amps and
leave out the 5150..... Let
me know what you think..

DIMMU 1

EDIT: Ya know what else, Ive always loved calibans tone
It looks like powerballs to me, Any insight on that is great.

CALIBAN

Sounds good:evil:

any such combination like that i think would work, it's a matter of what you'd prefer personally tho

maybe try to get a used powerball off someone here for $1400? if you don't like it, you can sell it for about that and try something else

a used savage would serve the same purpose, but they're not as common...there's someone selling a minty powerball here every month

Everyone thinks Caliban's tone on The Opposite From Within is an Engl Powerball, but it isn't. It's a 5150 and a Marshall, straight from Andy Sneap.

seems like someone told me that before...that they originally recorded with engl's, but sneap re-amped them or something

They use Powerballs live, and that's what's listed on their website...plus that tone sounds exactly like a Powerball...but it isn't. :freak:

Exactly like a powerball sounds like the
5150 marshall thing was for nothing then?

Because it has the ENGL voicing to me
on the record loud and clear. And i love it.

Also, his day job will be something to do with {censored}, maybe a septic tank pumper or an assistant plumber, specializing in clogged toilets. :freak:

sounds like an andy sneap mix to me...not to say they all sound the same, but pretty much everything he touches inherrently has HIS sound and vibe to it

he could be running plywood guitars thru a gorrilla and make it sound godly if he wanted ;)
