Which EQ to run in the effects loop?

I'm interested in trying an EQ in the effects loop of my amp for some extra tweaking options - which units have people here used and been happy with? The DBX 131 31 band EQ has got my interest but I'm just not sure (and I haven't tried any).

I would not use a bazillion band EQ. You're likely just going to add noise. Yes, it looks neat and like you can adjust all sorts of stuff, but the vast majority of it is not even relevant to guitar, and the rest is just overkill.

A typical 7 band or whatever is fine. But for the loop, if I were you, I'd try to get some more affordable parametric EQ. That will give you immeasurably greater control, without there being a bazillion bands just sitting there making noise.

The Rane parametric EQs go pretty cheap on evilbay, and there's some Presonus 3 band parametric EQ that's like $100. There aren't a whole lot of options, but I'd take either over a giant graphic EQ.
