You guys can speculate all you want, but there's a reason so many of us love the game.

hey... I like it you don't.

I feel the same way about some of the music you guys are into but I don't hold it against you
:D

I've actually never played WoW in my life, and I'm proud for that. I know what MMORPGs can do to people, because I used to be addicted myself. Thankfully I broke out of it myself, and I was able to do many more things--like living.

You can make as many excuses as possible ("I only play in moderation" [while it may be true, the vast majority of you probably don't], "It always has something new", etc.), but in the end it's just another way to waste life--just like television.

Granted, many of the above aspects can be applied to other things (like many of you have said, these forums), but quite often or not they have more benefits than raiding that 'nub guild' or GETTING THAT SUPER RARE STAFF OF THE RUINS OMG IT DOES 152-247 DAMAGE WHICH IS 60.6 DAMAGE PER SECOND OH MAN MY DWARVEN PALADIN WILL BE ULTIMATE AFTER I GET THIS RARRG

sorry to be so blunt, but it's a game, if you are addicted to it - thats a reflection of your own weak will.

Id like to play WoW, but i am not willing to pay a monthly fee. There are MANY other games that let you play online for free, and with more freedom to so what you want, too.

The other problem is that if you start paying that monthly fee, you will feel obligated to play alot to get your money's worth. Not gonna happen to me :p

I dont feel so bad about it - i used to spend more on smokes in four days than what it costs me to play

Once you start playing WoW, that $13 a month ends up being about a penny an hour. You get your moneys worth, you just loose your soul.

I played that game for about 8 months, and I honestly wish I had those 8 months back. My health and my attention to my family and work big time. I was the raid-leader and main tank for a guild, and had lots of "stuff", but its all worthless virtual garbage in the end. I sold the account for about 3 grand a few weeks before AQ opened and bought a Bogner XTC. Best thing I ever did.

Online games are for no-life loosers, because thats what myself and all my online "friends" were when we were playing them.

Hi, so I think this is my first off-topic question. I just acquired world of warcraft. After I installed the game, I am creating my account. I was not aware that you had to pay money to play the game. Does it not seem a little ridiculous that you pay money to buy the game, and then you have to pay more money to play it too? So anyways, I was wondering if there were any ways to get around paying $13.00 a month just to PLAY a video game online. Let me know!

i'm not sure :o
