Members hal9000
Guys, What are the options (ie. available products) for using MIDI to control a Mesa Road King? Depending on how many functions you'd like to switch via MIDI, the Amp Gizmo and Axess CFX4 will do what you need.
Members Seano Porno
Well...I have looked into this meself when I was (still am) considering rack mounting all my FX and going for a midi setup. If you can get hold of one of them Rocktron Midi Octipus thingies you're sorted, but they're discontinued now and a bit rare. Theres other things like that too which I can't remember off the top of my head but.... I did however see a Who Tribute band recently who's guitarist was using a RK with a midi controller. Obviously I had to go ask what he was using to trigger his channel changing jacks and he told me he was using two Nobels MS4's. I'd looked into those but discounted them as they only control 4 functions and the King has 8. He told me that he was using two combined, which is easy, infact one can supply phantom power to the other, he's never had a problem with them and he was very happy. So...it looks like the cheapest option will be to go for a couple of those bad boys.http://www.nobels.com/
