Members 6942
Hello people!! Right now I'm using a 1 x 12 cabinet made by Earcandy (thanks Tim), with a Celestion Rocket 50 speaker. It is powered by an Epi Jr. Valve amp. My guitar of choice is a 1986, MIJ, Westone Spectrum ST (dual humbuckers). I DO NOT like the Celestion Rocket 50.....for lack of a better term.....no soul!? So now what?? I don't want to spend big $$$ on a speaker either. I have a couple of speakers in mind: Weber Alnico Signature 12 Weber Alnico Signature 12S Eminence Black Powder Any other speaker suggestions (below $75) would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!! THANKS!!! Members 23miles
Depends on the tone you are looking for. Weber makes some great "american" voiced speakers. I like their Chicago, California, and Michigan speakers. Weber's 12F150 are great in Fender amps. Eminence also makes fine speakers. I have a a Cannabis rex and a pair of their Ragin' Cajuns. Check out Eminence sound clips here: http://www.eminence.com/soundclips.asp
Members 6942
23miles:I think Weber and Eminence speakers sound good and are great bargains (well some).I like playing the blues mostly. So the speaker has to run the range from clean highs, to a down and dirty growl.BTW: I was born in Albany, N.Y. and lived on Sycamore Street.Steve
