Members thefuryone
Hey guys, A while back, I bought a used Valve Jr. My first tube amp, so the whole thing is completely foreign to me. I turned it on the other day, and there's no sound coming out of it at all. Are my tubes blown? Is it just a power amp/preamp tube or both? If I have to replace one/both of them, which tubes should I buy? Then my next question would be...how? Like I said, total tube newbie. Thanks in advance, guys. Members nerol1st
Did you wait for a sec? Tube amps just don't "start up" like a solid state amp does. Wait a few seconds after turning it on for noise.

Members dsquared
Covering the two most basic stupid things: Make sure the speaker is plugged in.orCould be a blown fuse. To check the fuses, you'd have to get into the amp. There is the potential for high voltage to be stored within the amp. Given your admitted lack of experience, I reccommend you take it to a tech of some sort. A TV repair shop should be able to do it quite easily.
