Members Dimebag11
depends on the amp....my Cobra I do the channel volume high and master low...every other amp I've played is the exact opposite
Members 5150dv8fan
thanks. i am helping my friend dial in his Peavey XXL and i find a master at 10 and channel volume to taste seems to work the best. if anyone has a good setting for the Ultra Modern that would be great, and please tell me what cab also. m/
Members Giga
Differs from amp to amp and sometimes you're forced to use certain settings to equalize (?) the volumes from channel to channel. Giga.
Members sahlomonic
With the XXL, I don't think it matters much since its solid state. I've wondered the same about mine, but the saturation and "warmth" of my XXL doesn't change to me. I usually mess with both master volume and channel volume. However, with the master too low (like at 1), it does start to sound very thin.
Members sahlomonic
Also, recently I've been favoring the Moderm setting over the Ultra setting on the Ultra channel. Mids are cut way back on the Modern setting. For low level applications, I have Edge at 6, Body at 6, and Bottom at 8 for dark, metal-type riffing. Members LaXu
Indeed depends on the amp. I prefer running the channel volumes around 6 and master volume to taste on my Diezel Einstein.
