Members rustyshed
I have JJs in my 5150 II and 6505+ moment. I like the sound but I am always looking to experiment.Owners what would you suggest I place in the preamp section? Yes you guessed it; I like clarity and screaming crunch and I play prog tech metal. Cheers I look forward to your replies

Members rustyshed
Yeah I had those in the amp originally, but I took them out and replaced them with the JJs. I found the EH a little harsh. JJs were smoother. Any other suggestions
Members nwright
9th generation Chinese 12AX7's, made in the Shuguang factory. Not as harsh as EH's (I hate EH pre tubes), high gain, low noise...I like them a lot. Get 'em at Doug's tubes, www.dougstubes.com I've also heard people dig the Tung Sol pre's in 6505/5150's, maybe they would be worth a shot. email Doug and he can recommend some for you.
