Members unit11
I got my JCM800 2204 Ceriatone and I'm a little confused as what to do. It is a complete amp kit and totally assembled, so these are not hardcore DIY kit questions: 1. Does it matter which power tube I put in which slot? I have an E 34 L and a GZ 34 - please explain order from left to right when looking at back of amp. (As in I have all the little ECC 83 S tubes on the left). 2. What voltage do I set it at? It has the 110/220/230 switch on the back... but isn't US 240? Some help please!
Members Weathered
The GZ34 is not a power tube - you shouldn't have a GZ34 at all for the 2204 - it has a solid state recitifier. US is not 240 - we're 120. In short - take the amp to a tech, have him set it up for you, bias it, etc.
Members unit11
I double checked my order and see that you are certainly right about the tube - it was supposed to be able EL34 tube... sent an email to ceriatone. No advice on running amp other than take it to a tech?
Members Weathered
Nope. You will want to have it biased - you can put the switch on 110 and install EL34's to make sure that the amp works, but after that, get it into a tech and have the bias set.
