Members 2_Fast_2_Vader
I plan to get a mesa recto. I want to know from the general populous which one is the better? honestly, 100 watts isn't necessary. 50 watts is more than enough to play a live gig. but I believe thier are some manufacturing differences between the two. so....which one is the better buy? Members realbeeker
i have a dual, and think you are right about only needing the 50 watts. but i like the dual and have never played a single. it plays well though lots of tones. Members knucklefux
i walked into the store looking to buy a recto right when the series two duals and triples were hitting stores. i had the money in my pocket to buy any one of the three. i walked out with the single. it was the best sounding of the bunch...but it was also the only series one of the bunch, FWIW. Members BAZGUITARMAN
I thought the Single Recto sounded better, but was a little limited in a live situation. You just get two footswitchable tones. I thought I could get past that, but I needed to have three tones that were footswitchable. I would have used an EQ pedal in the loop, but it`s a parallel loop and you have to run it 100% wet. That was too much with any other type of f/x in the loop. If Boogie would do a true three channel single it would be nice. Eric

Members mark7171
what do you think of the all tube pathway amps with the tube rectifiers instead of the SS ?
Members JesperX
what do you think of the all tube pathway amps with the tube rectifiers instead of the SS ? Supposed to be looser and spongier sounding. If that's your thing you might like it.
Members cov99
I've heard its a lot easier to get the single sounding good because you can push the tubes... unless you are going to play 50,000 people arenas all the time then get the double
Members johndctd
single definately! gorgeous amps. im not a great fan of mesa, despite having owned some. but out of their really high gain amps it is deffinately my favourite. sounds absolutely awesome when your other guitarist is using an engl fireball. killer band sound. id deffinately recommend the 2 as a good pairing!
