Members starsnuffer Posted March 28, 2008 Members Share Posted March 28, 2008 So I got my first new 6 string in a very long time (pics later). It's a LP BFG. I'm really digging the guitar, even though it's butt ugly. It's raw and has sharp edges, and bites you back. All my other guitars are very smooth precision instruments, and I wanted something that was just mean and left me bloody. Anyway, I love the burstbucker3/P90 combo, but things can be improved on the electronics front. I'm woefully unknowledgable about 6 string stuff lately, and can use some suggestions. I really like bareknuckle pickups but I'm not sure which to go for. I'm also open to other suggestions. I'm using this guitar mostly with my XTC tuned from standard to drop D and my tone tends to be somewhere between AIC and Tool. The stock pickups are a bit muddy on the bottom end but otherwise sound pretty good, I just think they could be better.
