Members separanets
Hello I see a lot of intersting JCM800 models at the yahoo auction. But they run on 100 volts of power. So I'm curious about this: can their transformers be switched to 220V or they can be switched from 100 to 117 volts only? Thanks.
Members insurrection
You can use an external transformer to make any voltage you would ever need. Electronics ABC's
Members separanets
Yes, I know it, but it is incionvinient. I know these Marshalls must have a switch inside to change the voltage. I myself have rewired a lot of amps: vht 2902, Kasha Rockmod2, Riviera TBR-1, Marshall 9005, Egnater IE4, etc. I just need to know if that's possible with 100V JCM800 marshllas. I know exactly that if the voltage is 117V it can be swicted to 220V. But I'm not sure about these 100V Yamaha Marshalls.
Members Ryan Turner
Marshall JCM 800's do have a voltage selector switch on the back of the amp, it's right next to the ohm selector.
Members separanets
What does this selector show exactely, 2 or 3 variants of voltage? I mean if that possible to swicth voltage as only 100->117 or I can use it as 100-117-220 volts?

Most power sources can vary by as much as 10-15 volts. Marshalls with this switch can pretty much be used anywhere in the world, as most countries power grids are 110-120 volts or 220-240 volts. Members separanets
Yes, it's true talking about non-Japanese models. The model I've found seems to be 100Vhttp://page16.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/u25416512 You can use google.ru/translate_t to have it translated into English. http://google.com/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Fpage16.auctions.yahoo.co.jp%2Fjp%2Fauction%2Fu25416512&hl=ru&ie=UTF8&sl=ja&tl=en I can't understand their dialog about 100/220V swtiching. Members separanets
Is that really a Mains selector or it is a selector for the capacitor to turn off. Just to compare: 1) http://img205.imageshack.us/img205/612/marshall4dy2ahc4.jpg 2) http://img215.imageshack.us/img215/4193/p10006932adu6.jpg Why are the selectors so different? Thanks. Members separanets
Ok, I wonder about this picture http://img215.imageshack.us/img215/4193/p10006932adu6.jpg the words above the rectangular switch are "Main select", but there aren't any voltage values anywhere around it. And I wonder what it could be, a 100/117 volts or 110/220/230? The seller can't say. I don't even know how many positions it switches at, up-down or up-mid-down.
