I like the sound of mine with a LP, but I feel like I could improve upon what I already have. Cheapest mods to an amp are tubes and speakers. What do you guys prefer if not stock stuff. Members Johnny Z Posted June 19, 2008 Members Share Posted June 19, 2008 I liked mine stock great tone at low volume, but then again the new ones are MIM cream boards and mine was a MIA greenboard. The only thing I didn't like about it was the thing wasn't as clean sounding as I wanted, EL84's just don't have the sound I like at gig volume.
