Members strtdv
Well, anyone who knows about amp repair, but I figured Doug was probably a solid choice for advice I have a 1975 Orange Hustler 125 that isn't working. I just got it 2 days ago, and it was not working when I bought it (I bought it with the plan of getting it fixed up). The power light comes on, tubes glow (some of them bright purple at the base ), but there is no sound. Well, I say there's no sound, there is actually a hum from the speakers that gets louder as the amp warms up, but no guitar sound whatsoever. Any idea what the problem could be? Would this be consistent with power tube failure? Thanks for any help/advice.
Members Blackwater
Could be tubes, but also the tranies could be blown....the swelling hum is not a good sign.
Members strtdv
Also, the tubes seem to be the original ones from 1975. Unfortunately I don't have a set of EL34's lying around to swap and test..
