Members Keebz
I'll look in to it, but they are hard to find. Try your local Craigslist...they pop up in my area at least once a month for around $350 or so. And maybe an Avatar Contemporary cab would be a great fit as well... I've ordered a vertical 2x12 from Emperor Cabs and expecting it to be delivered on Monday or Tues next week...I got it for a pretty reasonable price too! I'll give details when after I get it and jam on it a bit. My buddy has a XXX that I can test it out on as well.

Does anyone know if the Mesa cabs are good??? I'll check the Basson also.
Members yell03
I tried out a few cabs tonight. First up was an Orange 2x12 with V30s.It sounded good, but for $649 I had to check out others. Next up was a cheap Marshall 2x12 for $399 with Eminence Legends, right away I was not impressed. Last up was a Mesa Recto 2x12.This was the best of the bunch, slightly better than the Orange, not much better, but better. At $619 New I will try to find a used one in the $400 range if possible. Members yell03
Seriously, you won't be disappointed with an Avatar loaded with Warehouse speakers. I am sure I won't be disappointed, but I want to make sure it sounds GREAT like the Mesa cab does.I really want a cab with two Vintage 30s if I can find one. I can buy a used Mesa cab locally for under $500.Three local guys have them advertised with prices of $450, $460, and $500.A guy I know has one with a Mesa Single Rectifier Head for $1300 total. He sold me a beautiful Marshall tube amp a while back for a SCREAMING deal.I sent hime an e-mail and I think he will come back with a price in the $350-$400 range. For an extra $50-$150 I probably should get the exact tone I am looking for.Let's face it, even for $500, an extra $200 won't kill me to buy the exact tone I will have for a while. Members yell03
VADER 2x12 $499 i think, maybe 399, can't remember They are only $399, but do not use Vintage 30s. I am sure I want: 2x12 cabinet closed back Vintage 30 speakers Approx dimensions of 20hx30wx15d I know I like the Mesa cabinet. The Orange is nice too, but bigger. I have also been considering the Krank Rev Jr 1x12 cabinet for $199 shipped. By itself it handles 100w, but if I use two it is good for 200w. Talk about portability and light weight. (my back is KILLING me from hauling my 52lb Triple XXX head to different stores yesterday) It's amazing how I can bench press 200lbs+ easily when my back is supported, but carrying 50lbs kills me. But, I've never heard one. I think they use Eminence speakers. Also, I think one 2x12 cabinet will have more bottom end than two seperate 1x12s? My feeling is, if I can find the exact Mesa cabinet I know I like for $400 I should get what I want. Howard

I know they use Eminence speakers.I really like the sound of Vintage 30s, knowing that, I should get something with Vintage 30s. I talked to a guy at Krank, he was very cool and very honest. He said they are great cabs and 2 would definitely handle the 120w XXX head.He also said one would be fine, just don't crank the volume all the way up.He did say that he felt one 2x12 cabinet would have better bottom end than the two 1x12 Krank cabs. Again, if two 1x12s = $400, if I find a Mesa 2x12 for $400, it is mine:) Howard

Members leod_74
The Mesa cabs are great as well. I have the 2x12 and an oversized Recto 4x12. They both sound HUGE. They weigh a ton though.

They weigh a ton though. My back will hate it, but I might just keep my Valveking combo for lugging around. The Mesa 2x12 is what I want, but a Genz Benz is a second choice.I can easily get a Genz Benz for $300-$350 shipped. If I could score a Mesa for $400 shipped I'd do it ASAP, but it doesn't seem to be happening at the moment. I'm trying to be patient, but that Amp is sitting in the Basement calling me.:poke: Howard
