Members AgentOrange
Ive had that shake your blood song in my head all day so dug out the disc and theres some serious tunes on there, Dave Ghrol is a talented dude. There was a ton of hype when the disc first hit, but hardly anyone bought it over here, maybe its different in the states James
Members Finch88
I remember the hype, but they never caught on well here either. But I honestly have no answer for your question. I though they would be pretty big.
Members TomCTC
I don't think it was meant to be big, just as kind of a Dave Grohl gets to play with all his idols and make some cash from the mashup. You know. It was good, as always the drums are spectacular.
Members gwarner
Im pretty sure Dave plays some of thie songs with foo fighters some times. Atleast I remember he played shake your blood live w/ lemmy once...
Members p4vl
I think it was just meant to be a small side project, really. I doubt that Dave Ghrol has any credibility with metal guys and Foo Fighter fans probably do not enjoy the vocalizations of Cronos or King Diamond. Members ENdtime
I think it went over pretty well. I mean not everyone on the disc are huge stars besides Lemmy and I guess King Diamond.. I mean T.Warrior, Lee Dorian, Cronos etc., are well known dudes, but in a much smaller community.. And Probot was only a one-off project, so of course it wasnt going to grow.. But besides all that, it did have some killer tracks on there.. Definitely worth a listen for thos ewho never heard it or about it..
Members destroyed
There technicvally is no "they" though right? it was just dave playing drums and guitar and most of the bass with different singers and a couple of bass players. Am i close?
Members Blackwater
It would be impossible to tour with max,lemmy,dino...and the rest of the vox. Great record. Started as a joke, but turned into an amazing record!
Members BrendanO
Well, it was done with a bunch of vocalists, which makes supporting the album pretty infeasible. Hard to get a band out there and keep it out there when you you can't really play any shows for it.
Members AgentOrange
Well i know it was never intended to be massive, but im really just saying its a shame its not more well known. I know they could never have toured in the way the disc presented the band to promote it, but hardly anyone bought it over here, which is a shame. Members jlc1587
Well because it wasn't a solid band. I mean it was just tons of people he worked with. They played a few shows but it's harder to do that kindof thing.
Members scottcrud
We usually play Silent Spring in our set. I think our version is a little heavier...
Members SlayerofShadows
Loved it myself. I think it'd be cool for Dave to do a Probot Vol 2 sort of thing.
