Members snaresmacker
Hi all, I have a Vox AC15cc1. Last May it started making a terrible humming sound... turned out to be the power tubes went bad. It was less than a year old and still under warranty, so I had them replaced with JJ's and it's been fine since. Tonight it started doing it again (making the humming sound), and it's only been 7 months since the tube change. Should power tubes be going bad that fast? Could it be something else wrong with the amp causing the tubes to go bad? Thanks a bunch, Jesse

Members snaresmacker
One thing I just thought of... When I practice at home, I plug my amp into a 2-prong outlet by using a little gray adapter thing. Could this have anything to do with it?
Members snaresmacker
How much do you play? Not a ton... the amp is on for 4 or 5 hours most Sunday mornings, plus about 5-10 hours a week practicing. And I didn't play it at all last September/October on account of being on tour. Members bdubbs
I doubt it has anything to do with the plugs. Are those generally biased hot?
