Members sfx70 Posted January 16, 2009 Members Share Posted January 16, 2009 What tubes in a Bogner Ecstasy XTC do you use or tried: both power and preamp. What sounds best? Recommendations? Also what's the deal with when turning the amp to 1/2 power mode change the impedance on the amp half the cab impedance. It's the first time I see this in a tube amp manual. Members jenksdrummer Posted January 16, 2009 Members Share Posted January 16, 2009 Half the tubes, half the ohms. Example:16 ohm cab plugs into 8 ohm jack, when pulling tubes. Most amp schematics I've seen, you can pull one from each side (1-3/2-4), but many people recommend pulling the inner pair (2-3) or outer pair (1-4), to be extra safe.
