Members koninos
Hi everyone!! I want to buy a preamp pedal and I 'd be glad if you could help...I need it for using it with a power amp and a cabinet and also for direct recording (with the use of cab impulses)... I play metal (mostly) and I have a budget of 300 euros... I tried the Mesa/Boogie V-Twin but its gain is just not enough for metal... I also tried the Tech21 GT2 and California which were really good but I was dissapointed by the fact that you can not disable the speaker simulation... Do you have any other preamp (for metal and up to 300euros) in mind? Thanks in advance!!!

Members Pankot
+1 on the tonebone - thinking more laterally... Second hand DG stomp? The "Lead" models have a lot of gain and you can defeat the cab sims. A bit unusual I know, but it meets your "pedal" preference - nice metal unit with easy to use controls.
