Members Zeppelin Rules
I've had my DSL 401 for about two years now, never changed anything out on it, but recently when I turn on the power switch its been making this buzzing humming sound, even before I turn on the standby. I figure the problem is probably with the tubes as this thing has been used pretty much daily, but which, power or pre? I've got a line on a matched quad of new JJ EL84s through Craigslist which I'm probably going to buy regardless, but is this the problem? Thanks. Members Repner
Great timing. My DSL50 has the same buzzing sound. I'd like to hear what people have to say

Members wrathchild1
well if you never changed the tubes, Im sure thats it. it sounds more like the pre amp tubes, but I would re-place them all. you should replace the power tubes once a year. I had problems with my 401 a while ago, but it was powering down by it self, the tech replaced most of the solder joints. and put a fan in, all DSLs run really hot, I put a fan in my 401 and never had a problem since.
