Members bluesboy
After looking at a bunch of amps, I picked up a fender blues deluxe reissue at guitar center yesterday for $700 (good thing, because i looked on musiciansfriend and now they're $899!) Anyways, as usual the stock fender tubes aren't that great. Long story short, if i replace the tubes and bias it myself, will that void the 5 year warranty? Do I have to take it somewhere and pay extra money just to change the tubes and rebias, when i can do it myself?
Members Flogger59
I think that the phrase "No user servicable parts inside" applies. It has to be opened up by an authorized service center.
Members bluesboy
so if i had to apply my warranty, and the amp had been retubed and rebiased, would i have to provide proof that it was done by a certified fender tech? im assuming that involves some kind of paperwork beyond a receipt? Members Citizen_Insane
Well as long as you're good enough to solder like the factory, I'd say pretty much anything is fair game. If you have to send it back, put the stock tubes back in and correctly rebias them. If you're not sure you can do it correctly, then let a tech do it.
