Members Sixtonoize Posted April 13, 2009 Members Share Posted April 13, 2009 Stock 5150s have VERY LOW bias - like 10ma, which means that the tubes are very cold.This translates into having a LOT of headroom, because it takes a much larger signal to makes them hot. Turning UP your bias to 35-40ma will warm up a 5150, but will decrease headroom.IMO, it makes the amp sound better at ANY volume level. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
