What do you guys think? It's currently 719 new. Can you tell me about it's tone? I'm not super familiar with traynors, but it seems to be from the descriptions on other sites a good amp for me. How does it take pedals and les paul-ish guitars? Is it worth trading a '70s Acoustic 104 6 x 10 custom eminences cabinet with everything intact except some tolex tears on the back?

I play in my basement alone and with my friends, although I play drums for those guys and only write guitar parts.

I like to play a lot of different stuff, from classic rock and bluesy punk to prog, post-hardcore, even some jazzy stuff.

this is the stuff I listen to: last.fm/user/jamreu

Pros:

The clean is nice but is picky about pedals.very bright. It's Fendery and Voxy at the same time nice:thu:

Cons:

The dirty channel is one word. THIN. no balls. needs an EQ in the loop to add lows. The boost feature makes it muddy.

If you like a nice clean tone only it's fine especially with a Tele. But you'll need to experiment with Various distortion/OD pedals till you find one that works with it. preferably a dist, pedal that has a bass control to max it.

good luck I tried but sold it and got a Bassman.

Well, in the distortion area I have a Micro Metal Muff (upgrading to the full version) and a Big Muff Pi with Tone Wicker. I like how clean fenders are, but most just feel bland to me. I like how a Vox sounds when you have it real clean, but as you turn them up, they get dirty. I need a good clean channel that can take pedals. The muffs are both pretty bassy and if I upgrade to the full muff which has treble, middle and bass controls, it should be fine. Anyone else?

Dman has it right. Very nice clean channel, although the reverb has to be turned all the way up to have much effect. The drive channel can sound good, but it's very inconsistent. Some days it sounds good, some days it's thin and weak. For $350, it's a decent amp if you like a big warm clean sound.

I have one of these in very good condition. Only issue is the tolex is a bit loose in the back, and like all old amps it's a bit dirty. Should I try to trade it for this? These cabs are very rare and totally made in usa, and I also like it a lot, so I was thinking of trading it plus 150.

seriously it'll be 50/50 chance of success. Can you deal with those odds:confused: also I think it'll be very brittle with those pedals...imho of course.

Sadly, I really have to get a combo if I want to get anything soon or trade my cab for a head and cab.
