Members thenakedarab
I'm playing my Les Paul with a 52-12 (plain 3rd) sets tuned to C or C#, and it's almost too loose on the 6th string while being slightly too taut on the 3rd. This makes it a pain to pull off accurate big bends on the fly. I'm thinking of switching from pure nickels to nickel wrapped, so I can pop a 54 on the 6th string which ought to tighten that up while yielding a little more slack on the 3rd (and the others as well). I play a bunch of Kyuss/Sabbath/Monster Magnet/High on Fire type riffs and it sounds good, but I could use a hair more snap on the lows.
