He also builds his own amps, does repairs and mods. Here are some clips that Wilder made after putting his mod on my DSL50 plugged straight in, no pedals. Whats the deal with them? do u have a link to them? (never heard of em) -- Can i ask what they charged you? The amp has never sounded better and in person the {censored}ing mids on this thing are meat, the lowend tight and big. I've got a toggle switch to run it on the choke or resistor too if I want a bit of sag. Listen I hear some good stuff in those clips given the recordings are unpolished and raw as {censored} not to mention low volume. In person it puts the biggest smile on my face. I luv it. He'd call me on the phone and play the amp for me so I could hear it while he was modding it hehe. There is some classic crunch AC/DC in those clips too.I already had the MM OT and 3H choke on mine and had him add the MM Fat stack PT so I get no starvation/thinness at volume. Jerry undid Voodoos mods and put his in. Jon tweaks the gain stages and messes with certain component values. I'm not a tech so you'd have to ask him. To tell you the truth I'm not sure how much of Jerry's circuit mod is there. Voodoo's are gone though. I would have had Jerry rework my amp but I get raped in shipping costs to NY. So I went with Wilder due to him living in Cali which is much closer and he seemed to know a great deal about amps. Turned out to be a very good move all around for me. After all the tone I want is what is most important to my playing and I tried everything else I knew how to do(like rolling NOS tubes, speaker changes etc). You would add shipping to that both ways. You're going to have to figure that out. I'm in Washington and it cost me $80(I put worth of amp @ $700 to be insured)one way so $160 for a round trip. It can be less if you don't cover it with insurance or declare a lesser value. Oh I also paid for packing it too(double boxing)so that ran the shipping cost up too. {censored}ing worth every cent...
