B-52 ATX-100

I've never played the ATX, but I own the AT-100 (the earlier version of it) and it sounds phenomenal. Don't let the haters fool you, it may be made in China, but it's inexpensive, sounds fantastic, and in 4 years I've only had to have 1 minor repair (repaired for free under warranty). Put some good tubes in it (I use the high gain set from Eurotubes) and it REALLY comes to life!

Ironically, I'm actually selling mine because I just can't justify having a full stack as my only amp. I need something smaller for small gigs and convenient jamming. So if you're interested in paying even less for an amp like that, PM me.

So much fail in one post.

I spent over $400 in repairs when I had a B-52 at100 head, it was the biggest waste of time on a piece of gear I have ever experienced.

I've spent nothing on my mesa. because I haven't had one problem with it.

only MIC amp I have ever gave kudos to is the valveking 1x12.

My roommate has a B-52 AT-100, and I play it more frequently than he does. Well, I'm the only one who plays it. He plugs a cable from the line out jack to the speaker cab and then will ask me why it's not working .

Anyway, it's a DECENT sounding amp. I know what tone I'm looking for and unfortunately I can't find that tone in a multi-channel amp. Especially this multi-channel amp. I've resorted to using only the clean channel because the distortion sounds like amp emulation (srsly). I've run several guitars through it and while I'm emulating the sound that I'm searching for, something about it doesn't seem quite right.

The AT-100 and I have a love hate relationship though. I'll go through a period of liking it, and then I'll go through a period of hating it.

I personally wouldn't buy one, unless the price was low enough

The first electric you hear on all of these tracks was recorded with my AT-100. The other main guitar parts were a Carvin V3, and some was done with a Mark IIC+.

Very nice. I think that pretty much shows that the AT can easily hang with more expensive amps.

Here's my {censored}ty little clips.

All of those take me to the homepage...is my browser not cooperating or something?

Those sound sweet! I don't think any of them are the best that the amp can sound by any means, but they all sound really close to the tone of the original song.

Some settings I've been using lately for metal are:

(These are based on number, not on "o'clocks")

Low Res-6, Master Vol- as high as you can stand, "Vol 2"-10, Contour (on)-5, Treble-8, Middle-8, Bass-10, Gain-6 (7 for lower volumes). My guitar is mahogany loaded with a JB/59 set, and I've had really pleasing results with those settings.

Another vote for the AT100. It was my first tube amp and since then I've gone through a bunch of other tube amps. I still have the AT100 and it absolutely kicks ass. Tones from marshall to mesa and all kinds of good stuff inbetween. I've taken it on the road from Tennessee to new york and all up and down the east coat, miami to atlanta, and all over the damn place and never had a problem with it. I currently don't use it because it's just too much for the small clubs I'm currently playing in but if you want a 100 watt tube head, I have no problem recommending one.
