Members toyloy
I have a LTD viper 401 with emg's on the way. I've been reading that SS combos and EMG's don't mix well. I need an amp SS or tube for home use and practice. I was looking at the vypyr, but now I'm concerned that it won't work out too well. Any advice? I have a budget of $400. I need a headphone out as well.
Members NinjaRaf
save up a bit more and get a 6505+ 112 combo....600 bucks. Will work great with EMGs.
Members Vinchester
If you're getting a vypyr I suggest buying Blackstar HT5 instead especially if you can get your hands on 2nd hand piece, that will probably be well under 400$
Members NinjaRaf
ht-5 is a good suggestion too. And the new jet city jca20h. But, with these amps, you are probably going to need a boost to play metal, which I assume you are doing since you are getting an emg loaded guitar. Members Crave Case
Peavey classic 30. You can play through a solid state amp, it may not be ideal, but for someone who is just beginning, you won't know the difference. Don't cross the Vypyr off of your list. a Vypyr 30 would be fine for you.
