Members spawnofthesith
I am looking to get a 4x12 this summer, and I was mainly considering either a mesa or a splawn. But I recently heard about Emperor cabinets and decided to check them out. Does anyone have any experience with these things? What is the general consensus on these cabs? And what is the pricing generally like? I sent out for a quote just a moment ago but I am curious on what the range is like. Thanks all!
Members Keebz
Prices are very affordable, build and sound quality is great/excellent/top-notch! Expect to wait 2-3 months for it though. I'm ordering a Road Case from them in the next few weeks.
Members spawnofthesith
GAS is building... In terms of price, how do they compare to say a new Mesa?
Members this is paul
I think you'll find their prices very competitive with Mesa, I dont remember Mesas cost. I'm actually getting ready to go down and try out some of their cabs. I've been talking to them about grabbing one.
Members TheMercyRule
I think theyre generally around 700-900 depending what speakers you want.

I think an Emperor 4x12 is $800 shipped, but it depends on which speakers you get installed. Their "stock" speaker and cheapest option used to be the Jensen Electric Lightning, but I'm not sure if that's still the case. Those Jensen EL's kick ass BTW! Members spawnofthesith
Got a really quick response back, with Eminence speakers it would be $850 shipped. I am liking the sound of this... These seem pretty good, any comparison in terms of sound to Mesa and the like? Better/worse? Neither but a different type of sound? Members .homewrecker.
A few local bands here use them, they're smaller than Mesa's if I remember correctly, they sound awesome though. I wanted a Emperor for awhile but eventually got a Verellen instead, they're around the same price but you can get your choice of WGS from Verellen. At the time I got mine were way cheaper, but even at the same price I'd still go with Verellen, so good I'm selling my Matamp Bottom line, you can't go wrong with either
Members thinkpad20
They sound killer and I love the looks. Plus they're built in my hometown at the same time I'm a big Mesa fan and love those cabs, so you can't go wrong there. If you look at Emperor's artist list you'll see a lot of post-rock/sludge/doom etc bands so especially if that's your thing...
Members spawnofthesith
Hmm not quite the style my playing drifts towards. I more towards the melodeath type thing (accept my writing probably sounds closer to metalcore )These are definitely very much piquing my interest still though. Seems like they've got the looks and the sound, and the fact that you have the control over the specs for that price is quite a draw. And there is a nerd factor going at the thought of having an Emperor cab along with a Vader cab
Members thinkpad20
Yeah I'm sure it can cover more ground than that, but for whatever reason (probably the general looks/aesthetic as much as anything) that seems to be the bands I see them in mostly. Members Cougar Hunter
They absolutely {censored}in' rule. I have a 212 and a 412. Ordering another 4x12 or a 6x12 is always in the back of my mind. but, yeah, expect to wait 3 months:
Members orangekick
I had an Emperor 6x12. It sounded amazing. The live tone that I was getting with that cab is probably one of the best that I have ever had. I only sold it because I just wasn't playing enough shows to warrant keeping it around. Members Dolf
I have no idea why, but I've suddenly gotten a huge boner for a 6x12 cab. Like...in a BIG BIG way. I honestly have no place to put it though.
