Series and Parallel

I changed my 2x12 from 16 ohm to 4ohm. I don't know if I did it correctly, basically I connected both speakes + with + and - with -. Then one speaker to the jack. Is this safe? All I've seen is this kind of diagram:

Yes, that's correct.

Don't mind the diagram, it's essentially the same thing but in a somewhat more complex form. Yes, your wiring is safe.

Wrong.

And the first speakers negative terminal is hooked to the second speakers positive terminal, then the second speakers negative terminal goes to the negative lead to complete the circuit.

^ That's correct, and not really the best way of doing it either, why freaking solder two leads onto one speaker terminal.

yes...i forgot to mention i changed from series to parallel...


i did it because i wanted to run my boogie power amp which is either 8 or 4ohm

the orange cab was connected for 16 ohm

Ahhhh, I should have realized that when you said you wanted 4 ohm impedance.
