Members Ryan F
I want to make a volume pedal that is on/off with a switch. I'm going to be using it with a single channel jcm800 type amp, so this is going to be my "channel switch" instead of having to quickly roll off pickup volume to get cleans. So far ive got a SPST switch, a 500k volume pot, jacks and enclosure. I'm kinda lost on the proper grounding of this beast. I dont know if the volume pot or jack needs to be grounded or what. My original idea (probably with wrong wiring) was to have the hot lead come in, and go to the switch, where one side of the switch goes to the output jack and the other side goes to the pot. The wire coming from the pot would then go to the output jack. I was going to have the ground wire go straight from jack to jack.
Members freeridstylee
The pot and jacks will ground themselves to your enclosure, but it never hurts to put a ground wire from pot to pot. I'd also ground one leg of the pot. What your doing should probably work, but for signal integrity I would use a DPDT switch, look up some true bypass wiring @ www.generalguitargadgets.com
