Members Cosmic_Osmo
Ok, so I've got an alder body -- just bare wood right now. Alder doesn't have much of an open grained wood, so I doubt I'm going to use grain filler, but I do plan on using an oil based sanding sealer to build up a nice smooth base on which to paint. Now, as far as paint: All the guys at the local hardware stores are telling me that a white guitar is going to look like crap if I put a nitro-cellulose lacquer or polyurethane clear coat over it because it will turn yellow, and that I should just use several coats of the glossiest white paint I can find instead. I'm thinking maybe automotive paint is my best bet. Any suggestions?
