Do you use a power conditioner?

I'm thinking about getting one, non-rack mounted.

My amp (Peavey Ultra 120 plus) seems to be sensitive to crappy power coming in (lots of hum that dissipates if certain things are tunred off, lights etc..). It's not my guitars (PRS CE 24 and Les Paul).

Any suggestions for an inexpensive power conditioner? I've seen a few on MF that are basically power strips with some extra processing in them (Furman makes one and Monster does too).

Thanks for any insight :thu:

That's all that most of them are. If you want serious power conditioning, expect to spend a few hundred bucks on it. If you don't mind spending a bit more money, look for a Tripp Lite Isobar or something similar. I've replaced some of the cheap hardware store power strips at our practice space with whichever models were readily available at the time, and they are built like tanks compared to the $8 Radio Shack variety.
