Members mmmiddle
I have a Marshall JCM 900 and the footswitch has started doing this thing where it won't work sometimes unless I wiggle the cable. Intuitively you would think the problem lies near the jack or near where the cable enters the footswitch enclosure but it seems to be in the middle of the cable somewhere. It's completely random but if it stops working I kind of just reposition where the cable runs along the floor from amp to switch. How would I test and repair something like this!? I don't want to spend $40 on a new footswitch just because the cable is slightly broken somewhere.
Members Pope on a Rope
First thing I would try is contact cleaner on the switch. A dirty switch can often times make you think you have a bad cable.
