Members the_bleeding Posted January 8, 2011 Members Share Posted January 8, 2011 The US government is funding projects to create programs to circumvent state sanctioned censorship and information blocking in target countries such as China, Iran, etc. Essentially, they want programs that will circumvent the firewalls to make information free again. Service providers want to put the lock down on the internet so they can make more money. Not the government. The government body that is in charge of such things - the Federal Communications Commission - is wholly against it. Get your {censored} straight.
