Members MattACaster
Our singer made it for the other guitar player in the band. Sounds killer! Louder, punchier, clearer and just all around bigger sounding than the stock Marshall 1960 he had been using. It's loaded with WGS Retro30s and ET-65s. I usually prefer tolex on my cabs but I really dig the look of this. Very much considering having him make me a pair of 2x12s.... Taken with a cellphone... Members draelyc
Man, that is gorgeous! Two questions: how much does it weigh, and how could you ever gig something that beautiful?

Don't know, I didn't pick it up. Looks like it would weigh a ton though, doesn't it? No kidding! I'd be afraid to move it anywhere!
Members Dehumanize
That seriously looks good! It's looks sort of like an Emperor cabinet. It looks heavy as hell too!

Members pickinatit
It probably only LOOKS heavy. Most cabinets are made out of wood. They're just covered with tolex or something. Why would this wood be any heavier then any other 4 X ??

Why would this wood be any heavier then any other 4 X ?? because it appears to be solid wood as opposed to ply. Unless it's just a veneer.

Yeah, the guitar player said he wanted something along the lines of an Emperor.
Members cap'n'crunch
because it appears to be solid wood as opposed to ply. QUOTE] There are no "air pockets" in ply wood. If there is then you shouldn't be using that for a speaker cab. A board foot of solid birch lumber will weigh pretty much the same as a board foot of birch plywood. Unless the birch plywood is cheap and has softwood filler ply's.
