Our singer made it for the other guitar player in the band. Sounds killer! Louder, punchier, clearer and just all around bigger sounding than the stock Marshall 1960 he had been using. It's loaded with WGS Retro30s and ET-65s. I usually prefer tolex on my cabs but I really dig the look of this. Very much considering having him make me a pair of 2x12s.... :love:

Don't know, I didn't pick it up. Looks like it would weigh a ton though, doesn't it?

 

No kidding! I'd be afraid to move it anywhere!

There are no "air pockets" in ply wood. If there is then you shouldn't be using that for a speaker cab.

A board foot of solid birch lumber will weigh pretty much the same as a board foot of birch plywood. Unless the birch plywood is cheap and has softwood filler ply's.
