Members scolfax
Can I use my Tech21 PowerEngine 60 as a regular speaker cabinet? I know I can't just plug a speaker cable into it, I assume I'd have to disconnect the speaker from the power amp and connect it to... what? I'd still like to be able to occasionally use it as intended with my modeling gear, so I'm not looking to permanently disfigure it.
Members danut
I found, on Youtube, the answer of a Tech 21 guy to some other guy asking the same question as you: "In a word, no. However, if you really want to, you can disconnect the wires running to the speaker (so there's no chance that wattage from the tube head will run up into the Power Engine chassis and damage the circuitry), make a cable with a 1/4" plug at one end and a pair of "spade lugs" at the other, and run from the tube head to the? UNpowered speaker."
Members scolfax
Cool, thanks! So in a word, yes! I've been considering a Tweaker head, and if I can get this to work I won't need to buy another cabinet.
