Members paulslagle
Which one seems to be the best? I know there is Weber, Marsh, Ceriatone, Mojotone, Allen, etc... I was just dreaming that someday I'd like to build a 5e7 or a Dumble Clone. I have the tools and there is a work bench in the garage.
Members SteveiJobzz
Webers are cheap (especially for their cabinets), and the quality is definitely affected by it. Ceriatone isn't doing kits right now, but if you email Nik, I'm sure you could get a detailed bill of materials and save yourself a bunch of money. Mojotones are expensive, but pretty good quality from what I've heard.
Members Cougar Hunter
I'm pretty sure mojotones don't come with instructions or a layout. See if you can find anything on that AX84 website.

Members RupertB
Allen are topnotch +1 to both of these. Aside from quality components, the most important thing to make sure you're getting is the correct level of support. With some kits, you get parts. Period. DIY & don't call us. Some include layout and instructions. Some include over-the phone or e-mail support. I know of one kit vendor who will let you mail him the amp and troubleshoot/fix it for a fee. Know what you're getting. IMO, cheaping out on components, especially things like sockets & jacks, is a losing proposition. After all, you're not going to save much (if any) money on building vs buying a comparable amp. Kick in for good quality.

BYOC just came out with a $350 champ kit. The instructions are stupidly detailed, great for people who don't know what they're doing.
