Members travis bickle
i prefer the bite the aftermath has in this clip. i felt the emg sounded way more compressed and flat in comparison.
Members cobrahead1030
I bet with the mix tweaked a bit, the aftermath could sound better. Flat comparisons like this are cool but never tell the full story.

Members cron
Id like to know how close each pickup was to the strings. I own both and the aftermath needs to be lowered a tad more than other pickups to sound its best i.m.o.

I'd also like a complete engineers report on the guitar bridges to make sure they're exactly the same. AND I WANT A {censored}ING CORNETTO!!!! Members satannica
yes, same is true for te emg thoughWell, it's actually closer to how it'll sound live or in the rehearsal room this way I was about to say! I like EMGs as they're all very consistent. My mate's Nailbomb set is impeccable, I love playing that guitar. But I'm perfectly happy sticking with EMGs, I've no desire to piss around with passives anymore. I did feel the EQ on the EMG video could have been better, but I get this was all for comparison purposes.
Members metalaxe
yeah, the painkiller was one of the worst pickups (IMO) I've ever tried. I do like the 85 in some of my alder guitars, really depends...
Members StevePage
Both sounded great but I prefer the EMG.
Members syscrusher
Emg is going to sound more clear with more high end with it's lower impedance and less inductance. Kind of like comparing oranges to apples. I bet if you turn the tone knob down a little, you could get the two close.

I would say more than likely, but the beauty of EMG is that they're so plug in and go. No faffing with trying to get the right pickup combo, just chuck a lead up to an amp and go!
