Members JBecker
Hi guys, My uncle just passed away and I've inherited his guitar. The only thing I remember him telling me about it was that he had ZW EMGs put in (maybe it wasn't this guitar, but it's clearly got EMGs). I'm not actually around the guitar but I do have a couple of pictures and I'm trying to learn about it. First thought that comes to mind is a lawsuit Ibanez, only because the binding looks pretty nice, the body shape is pretty dead on for an LP from what I can see, and there appears to be little cracks in the finish that remind me of older LPs. Anyone know what I might have without me being able to access a serial on the back?
Members Hardvalve
76-77 Bolt on. It is the lawsuit era Ibanez. Pretty cool. The pickups that came with the are pretty desirable, but can be microphonic. If you play metal, and want to keep it, would do fine. Worth 3-400, maybe a little more with the EMG pickups. Good guitar, sorry abut your Uncle.
Members les_paul
Actually without the original pickups and hardware it's not worth a whole lot. Still a good guitar, though.
Members maggotspawn
I had a creme colored one. Stock pickups sounded like a$$, and it was heavy as hell.
Members JBecker
Thanks for chiming in and letting me know what I've got. I won't ever sell it, but I probably will change the pickups if it plays nice.
