Members fretless
not all the time , hell I use one on a bass guitar now and then for that effect but it just seems like leads have way more color and character and of course finger picking rhythm stuff is tons of fun . What say you ? Oh titties & Laneys
Members superflyinmonke
Fingers for bass, absolutely. You need a certain technique and style for it to work with guitar, both of which I don't have. I pick 100% of the time, unless it's with acoustic. Members peavey_impact
I like to use those rubber Wedgie picks for bass. Comes close to the "finger" tone
Members Phrophus
Generally, I use them, but I've been trying to throw in hybrid picking here and there to get better at it. I agree that there are some tonal and other advantages to using your fingers instead of a pick, but I still like the attack of a pick. So, yeah, that's why I want to incorporate hybrid picking. I can haz both that way.
Members Marshalldsl50
I find I LOVE the sound and feel of fingers for lead guitar.. ? ...but I HATE the sound and feel for rhythm parts.. ? The best compromise I could find is hybrid picking for leads. I must play almost 70% of my lead stuff with my bottom 3 fingers on my pick hand now. I went through a couple years of playing with thumb picks and then only fingers but ended up with that bloody piece of plastic in my hand again.. lol http://scottreinson.bandcamp.com/
